New User - Missing icons for some cores

Hello all,

I’m new to Retroarch and have just set it up over the last few days. I’ve installed 1.3 on Windows 10 x64 and am using the XMB interface. I’ve run all the updaters.

Everything is working well in terms of running games the issue I’m having is with icons not displaying for all my cores on the main ribbon of XMB.

I have a collection of NES, SNES, N64, MAME and PSX roms. When I scanned my N64, NES and SNES directories it worked perfectly and icons appeared for these systems with the list of games underneath. However the same has not happened for PSX or MAME.

No matter how many times I scan these directories nothing I do will make the icons come up on the XMB ribbon. All the games work fine if I go through Load Core > Load Content and select them manually.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this so that I have icons for all my cores on the main XMB ribbon?

Check assets/xmb/monochrome/png and make sure the filenames for the icons in there match the filenames of the playlists in the playlists folder.

I think the OP is trying to say that the scanner is not creating the appropriate playlists (icons) for the systems.

Retroarch requires files to match known databases (like no-intro for roms), if the file’s checksum doesn’t match it, the game is not added to the list.

In that case, you can manually add them, or use a third-party tool like this: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5434

Damn, looks like I re-invented the wheel when I created mine:

I wish someone would have chimed in and said it’s already been done  I’m not sure if yours does, but mine pulls CRCs and thumbs from the RetroArch database based on filename.
