No sound with new setup

I have setup retroarch on a new windows 10 machine connected to TV via HDMI. I get no sound through retroarch. I plugged in a pair of speakers and still I get no sound through retroarch. I get sound through other emulators such as mame as well as windows sounds with no problem. Sound drivers are the most current. I’ve gone into retroarch and changed audio to dsound with no effect. The only thing I see different is my old machine was dx11.3 and this new install is dx12. is there a compatibility issue with dx12??

Thank you for any help you can provide. Oh also I did upgrade to the latest version of retroarch 1.3.6.

Disregard. After searching for hours and trying things I looked closer and saw there was another option for audio. I got it to work again! Sorry for the needless post. I thought I had tried everything!

the directx version shouldn’t matter, as long as you have 9.0c installed. It should be using whatever your default playback device is set to in Windows.
