Hi, I’m considering buying a Nvidia Shield TV 2019 (the tube nonPRO version) for my TV (which is a 2019 smartTV but has serious bugs/incompatibilities/performance problems), mainly because of itsSmartTV features, but would use it also for emu goodies paired with an 8bitdo gamepad.
I’ll be going for the tube version because I don’t wanna waste a lot of space for another device, due to its little size and smart design, it can be hidden with the cables on the back of the TV.
The main disadvantage of this version, is it has only 2GB of RAM and it runs a 32bit version of Android OS, so no 64bit apps compatibility.
My question is, will I have problems because of this? Is the RetroArch 32bit ARM version on shieldtv able to run the same cores as the 64bit version? And do they run at same speed (ot at least at full speed on both of them)?
I know dolphin is 64bit only, so this one is clearly out. But what about other cores? Flycast? Does it run well? Is it compatible with the vulkan renderer?
What about Mupen64Plus-Next or ParaLLEl cores? Do the Vulkan-RDP (awesomely ported from angrylion to Vulkan) work ok?
Any other downsides I might have to consider against the PRO (64bit OS) version? I really would like to avoid the PRO version specifically because it’s size more than the higher price.
Thank you very much for any feedback.
