The recent version (0.279) of MAME brought some new optimization and performance improvements in many 3D boards, some work almost perfectly, others improved graphics and others speed, etc. There are many in fact, almost all 3D.

But the one that stole the covers was SEGA Model 2 with its glorious Daytona USA. It has a very advanced emulation and a huge speed, it runs even on a prehistoric machine.
We only had to wait seven thousand six hundred and ten (almost 20 years) to enjoy this (now) classic.
Nothing matters when the arcade best seller and one of the best and most important games of all times is already on RetroArch thanks to MAME.
Maybe the only TOP retro game that was missing in the catalog.
Following the radiant wake left by this version, la 0.280 brings us a few improvements in 3D games, 2 coffee makers, 4 irons, a microwave, and about four new fruit machines…
OT: Close your eyes for a moment, imagine you’re a grown man, over 40, you’re with your friends in a bar, drinking beer, smoking, and talking about soccer (?), you turn around and see this device in front of you that says “to heart house”… O_o You have to play this because, forget Daytona, it’s an extra sensory experience.
OT 2: The Virtua series; Fighter, Racing, Striker, Tennis, and Daytona have a very special place in my heart. I’m so happy to have them. :’|
love you MAME :*
OT 3: I propose that the RetroArch MAME core be called OMGMAME, because it runs much faster, the core doesn’t need anything, the standalone (on Linux), you need to skip 6 frames to reach 100%.
