Online updater not working in nightlies

I downloaded the latest Retroarch nightly (12-7-15) and installed it. Unfortunately the online updater does not appear to be working (at least on my device.) So I can not install any cores. I also tried the 12-1-15 and the 11-22-15 nightlies with the same results.

When I try to run the “Core Updater” I get the following error at the bottom of the screen: Failed: Downloading ‘.index’

The other sections produce similar results such as:

Failed: Downloading 'info.zip'

orFailed: Downloading ‘assets.zip’

I’ve tried deleting the app entirely and reinstalling it several times. I’ve also tried rebooting. Furthermore I have verified that the buildbot URL is accessible from my device (a 16GB GPD XD.)

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

What device do you have? DO you use a proxy to get to the internet?

I have a GPD XD running Android 4.4.4. I do not use a proxy.

If it helps any, I performed a packet capture on my edge router and determined that Retroarch doesn’t appear to be attempting communication with the outside world.

I installed the 12/17/15 build today and the problem seems to be resolved.

I have the same issues here, im trying to use the “Update core info files” function from the menu, but all i get is “Failed: extracting ‘info.zip’”.

I have tried the following images on my raspberry pie 2: Lakka-RPi2.arm-devel-20151223094049-r21250-gd666dcf.img Lakka-RPi2.arm-devel-20151225180005-r21254-g2c76737.img Lakka-RPi2.arm-devel-20151217062825-r21245-g28184f3.img

but none of them is working. Also when trying the “Core updater” from the menu the screen flickers black for a few hundred milliseconds before the menu comes back.

This is happening to me with the 12/26, 12/25 and 12/17 build. Can’t download any cores or update assets, core info files, etc.

This was caused by a networking issue on the Shield TV effecting multiple apps. After a factory reset its working normally.
