No, I really think you could make them for 1080p. I mean, they look really nice, congrats!
Great work ! Thanks for sharing.
@aorin1, there is no problem to make them for 1080p, but problem is because i dont have 1080p monitor and overlays required correct custom viewport width and height and coordinate x and y and needs to be tested on 1080p monitor.
You’re right, I created a lot of themes for Hyperspin for 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 aspects and it doesn’t help when we’re locked in a specific aspect, so I needed to ask other people who have those aspects, but overlays are a little different since it requires thin adjustment.
Your overlays would be appreciated when you’re able to make them for 16:9 since I believe most people uses this aspect nowadays, and I totally understand why they aren’t available. I can help somehow, maybe if you create the png I can try positioning the screen for one and send you the coordinates.
Again, congrats for your work.
Aorin1, here is sega genesis png file for 1080p resolution, you need to play with custom viewport width and height x and y to find proper aspect ratio 4:3 .
Edit: Fixed again logo is now correct.
Right click save image as to save png file.
Edit: Tell me how look on 1080p or post screenshots.
Aorin1, i dont planing make it for 1920x1080 because i dont know how looking on 1080p, you have template for 1080p and my 1680x1050 overlays and nosh overlays as a basic and it’s easy for you to editing it for 1080p.

Hi, i have a question. How can i automatically load an overlay per core? When i open a snes rom i see the sega genesis overlay.
When you in the game in options save core overrides and hit enter.
Hey dude, sorry for the late reply, I’ll check that once I have the time and I’ll get back to you if I get nice results.

Really. Would love 16:9 1920x1080 versions please.
1680x1050 for life lol…
The frame border is really nice, I like it.
I am having a strange issue with these overlays. I am on a 2560x1600 monitor which is the same aspect ratio (16:10) as these 1680x1050 overlays, yet these end up covering a lot more of the screen for me than they do in your screenshots. They just don’t fit right, especially in the PSX version which has clear gaps on the sides.
I assumed that as long as the aspect ratio is the same, than the resolution shouldn’t matter. Or is that wrong? Integer scale is set to ON and aspect ratio is 4:3.
EDIT: Okay nevermind i just can’t read. I didn’t realize i had to use a custom resolution to get it to fit right. this is the resolution I ended up using for those interested. 1984x1488, Position is 288x50
Thank you very much for making these overlays, they are fantastic.
Arviel, glad you sorted it out, you only need to play with custom coordinate in retroarch to fit overlay correctly on your screen, it’s the same aspect ratio 16:10 as my resolution 1680x1050, and yes that’s the correct coordinate for 2560x1600 resolution and save overlay per core with save core overrides
Here is example, open image or overlay in gimp and use Rectangle select tool and read position and size
