One useful feature with the built-in History & Favorites playlists is displaying different system icons so you can easily tell the system/core used by each entry, matching the db_name with the icon filename.
Regular playlists don’t do that though (unless I’m missing something?). I think only the playlist name is matched in this case and so any custom multi-system playlists look a bit like second class citizens. It would be nice to have custom playlists working like the built-in ones in this regard.
Judging by the built-in playlists it shouldn’t add any significant slowdown, it’s just a small number of monochrome icons for a small number of cores.
