P-UAE Configuration

So documentation on exactly how to configure P-UAE to run properly is a bit sparse the official readme, so hopefully here we can share how to make games properly run and increase the cores overall popularity and usability.

I’ve made a personalized .uae file with the config Rick Dangerous as a test to get a game to actually run.

kickstart_rom_file=C:/emulator/retroarch/system/Kick13.rom
chipmem_size=1
bogomem_size=2
use_gui=no
nr_floppies=2
cpu_type=68000
cpu_speed=real
cpu_compatible=true
ntsc=false
chipset=ocs
immediate_blits=false
gfx_linemode=double
gfx_framerate=1
sound_output=normal
sound_frequency=44100
sound_channels=mixed
sound_interpol=none
show_leds=true
floppy_speed=100
gfx_center_vertical=smart
gfx_center_horizontal=smart
gfx_color_mode=16
floppy0=C:/roms/Amiga/Rick Dangerous.adf

Now there are a few blurry details as to what to do from here.

 1. Where is the .uae file to be placed?
 2. Naming scheme, how does the core identify the correct .uae file for the game selected?
 3. rom placement and system file requirements?
 4. any other needed amiga config files?

Hopefully we can get all the details cleared out and update the wiki to allow more people to appreciate the wonderful world of Amiga.

Did you have any success here? I note you’re running on a pc. I read elsewhere that the p-UAE core for windows didn’t support loading the configuration files .

But maybe you had success since this post?
