Paprium on Linux

While the Windows version of modified GX Genesis core runs the game fine, on Linux Mint the core simply exits Retroarch on that specific game only. It runs the rest of the Mega Drive games fine.

While if I use the normal GX Genesis core, it runs the game but only the mini-game. If I exit or reset, same mini-game appears, without the normal game initialization message

Has anyone experienced similar issues?

FYI, that modified core is full of shitty code, which is one of the reasons it won’t be merged (in its current state) into “normal” genplus-gx, among other things i know runahead breaks the game.

If you are looking for slightly better emulation for this game, i’d recommend FBNeo.

A quick howto (important: respect case and spelling) :

  1. put your paprium.bin rom into a paprium.zip archive, put that archive into a folder named megadrive, genesis, or megadriv.
  2. put the paprium mp3 audio files into another paprium.zip archive, put that archive into your FBNeo samples folder
  3. launch the paprium.zip created in step 1 with the FBNeo core.

Obviously, you’ll need a recent version of the FBNeo core.

An interesting fact: there are people who have been waiting 13 years for the physical copy.

OT: @BarbuDreadMon I can’t log into the neo-source forum. I’m trying to reset my password, but I never receive the email. Sorry for writing to you here, I can’t find any other way to get in touch.

Did you check your spams ?

If you are using Gmail, Google is blocking some forums.

Yes, there’s nothing.

Google is amazing, Now tell me which forums I can visit…
Is there a way to disable that block?

have no idea, but from here it seems to be related to DKIM, SPF and/or DMARC values in DNS.

I confirm SPF isn’t set properly, i’ve sent a message to the domain’s owner about it. The other 2 are usually kinda optional. Tbh even with the 3 types of records properly set, it’s not unusual for some mail providers to mistakenly filter mails out.
