ps: I also have bios NEC PC-FX BIOS (1994)(NEC)(JP).bin i renamed it to pcfx.bios.bin but it wasn’t working. TT please, somebody help me!!!
First, check to make sure your BIOS is being detected properly by loading the core (but not loading any content), go to information > core info and it should list any BIOS it needs and whether it can find it or not.
Thank you for helping me, sir. ^^ I put the cue file and bin file and pcfx.bios.bin file to same directory(the name is “pcfxrom”) in my sdcard. And then update core in retro arch (pcfx core) and load the core and go settings -> Directory ->system/bios->set the directory “pcfxrom” in sdcard And go to information -> core info -> there is bios missing required…
Frankly speaking, I even don’t know how to run retroarch. i know only things i saw in Youtube Tutorial for retroarch.
please help me more to use retroarch correctly.!!!
Your bios file needs to be named exactly what the core looks for, in this case pcfx.bios (that is, not *.bin).
Usually, people will set up a separate directory for their BIOS images.

I really really Thank you, sir !!!.
I downloaded another bios from website and renamed it(pcfx.bios)
then it was partially working, I saw the animatoin mark (PC-FX mark) but game(Dokusei2) was not working.
I change the setting (video setting-> Threaded Video Off)
And then I could see the mark of Dokusei 2 and hear Background music of the beginning theme. However, after that signal, there was blackscreen.
other game (pia carrot) is also blackscreen after i wrote my name in the game.
What should I do???
ps : my device is Samsung Galaxy S4mini and android 4.4.4
PS : I deteleted retro arch1.2.2 and re installed it. then Dokusei partially work (I saw the mark Dokusei2 of elf) And then black screen. other game (pia carrot) is also blackscreen after i wrote my name in the game. (I installed the retro arch 1.2 for android they(two games) didn’t work at all.) What should I do???

sorry to resurrect this but i just cannot believe that this “blackscreen” issue most notably in Pia Carrot after selecting uniform(basically the main video mode of the entire game) and Zeroigar(screen before start of a stage-you only hear sound but its just black screen)issue with PCFX core has been around as old as a year ago. searching the forums i can see results that have no resolution. is this core gonna be another mummified one like ppsspp?
(its probably a video mode issue something-ss below of what is showing if using d3d instead of gl driver). this is not an issue with latest mednafen standalone.
UPDATE: just found an old mednafen 9.28-wip and 0.9.33 build and those have no issue as above, what happened when 0.9.33 was made into libreto-core? even mode1/mode2 on controller works on these older standalone builds.
I second this. Update the core or drop it if you’re not going to make it work with every single one of it’s very small library, like regular Mednafen does.
- It’s an insult to Mednafen 2. Come on. There’s only like 70 games. Is it really too much effort, when you’re the one responsible for adding a core, to at the very least load up all 70ish games and see if you can make it to the game’s title screen? M.E.S.S. does a half-assed job of emulating a lot of systems, some better than others. But if you’re using Mednafen as your core, which is the cream of the crop, you need to make it legit. Don’t let RetroArch be a multi-emulator FE for a bunch of systems that only half work.
A couple of the Angelique games didn’t display right, either. I gave up after that (since I was still just in the A’s) and decided to stick with regular Mednafen.

Read again that part and ask yourself if you’re showing any respect to someone who adapted this core on his free time. Anyone can come and make the code better, what are you waiting for?
You’re right of course. I apologize, that was very disrespectful.
Edit: Yeah I don’t know what I was thinking. I love RetroArch and it may not be perfect but it’s in it’s own class. I don’t think I could have said it any ruder… truly, I am sorry.
