Pcsx core, Audio issue

Hello, Retroarch is a nice emulator I like the new graphic up-scaling makes it almost a opengl look, But my main issue is with audio while it sounds ok, it seems to miss a ton of sound effects or they come out wrong, for example in FF7 when cloud attacks with the sword that sfx plays wrong or just play through a few battles you will notice some are off, I also noticed this in other games like FF8, I hope you can improve sound compatibility to epsxe level

So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, my device is overall fast enough, Mali MP4-400, dual core 1.6 ghz , neon arm 7 android 4.2.2 I`m using the latest RA form google play

So far in my tests there is no perfect emulator for psx :frowning: Retroarch (pcsx) = , Best software graphics with upscaling, no opengl, fast with good compatibility, sound is ok epsxe = Good software graphics though no upscale, opengl plugin is slow / buggy , sound is nearly perfect in most games. fpse = Best OpenGL support , horrible sound effect playback, (test intro in ff7 wrong keyboard tones play lol), slow and confusing

IIRC the PCSX-ReARMed uses the PEOPS Audio plugin version 1.9, which is indeed a bit mediocre. More work was done to it on the PC side that improved it quite a bit, but I tried asking the PCSX-Reloaded devs about possibly including the improved code in their codebase, and if I understand correctly, the improved 1.10b plugin was pretty much built for use with Windows and little else, which sucks. ePSXe uses its own audio core as opposed to the PEOPs plugin, which may explain why it sounds better.

So yeah, not much to do about the sound, unless someone can figure out how to port the improvements found in the 1.10b plugin for use with PCSX-ReARMed.

damn hopefully they can get it sorted , emulator would be best of the best with proper audio support, which is a big part of psx games.

Keep up the good work.
