Performance expectations on 4 core ARM Cortex A53 Mali-G52

I recently got an Android TV and it’s running consoles up to GBA fairly well.

Turning the renderer to Vulkan did improve a little but sadly PS1 (Beetle PSX HW) and N64 (Mupen64Plus-Next) is unplayable with really low fps.

Am I expecting too much from these specs or is this performance about right?

RAM: 2GB CPU: 4x ARM Cortex-A53 running in 32 bit mode. GPU: Mali-G52 Android Version: 11

Yeah, those cores are not an ideal fit for a RPI3 type CPU, probably not at the clockspeeds it runs typically at default anyway.

Yeah thanks it’s kind of funny but whenever I check the CPU clocks in Aida64 it just says ‘sleeping’ on every core. I think an additional problem could be the slow read speed on the internal drive.

You could also try the PSP core, as it’s multithreaded (at least with Opengl, dunno about current Vulkan status) and most games only run at 30 FPS originally.

Yes the PSP performance was a lot better than PS1/N64.

Try PCSX ReARMed for PS1 it’s much faster on low end machines.

Thanks that helped PS1 runs good.
