Playstation (mednafen_psx) disc mounting/swapping?

So, I’m trying to get disc swapping to work on the Playstation (running the mednafen_psx core) using the multigame function built into RocketLauncher. It seems that Retroarch loads the rom image files directly rather than using a virtual drive to mount them (unlike SSF, that seems to require a virtual drive to function). I found this thread from a couple years ago discussing this same issue: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=436&highlight=daemon

Is it still not possible to have Retroarch mount a disc image on a virtual drive and have it load the game from there? And if not, is it even possible for me to get disc swapping working using Retroarch and the RocketLauncher multigame function? I’ve been fiddling with this for weeks, and I simply cannot get disc swapping to function no matter what I try.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I’m somewhat at the end of my rope with this one. : (

Nope, no mounted image support but we do have disk swapping. It’s all detailed in this article: http://wiki.libretro.com/index.php?title=Beetle/Mednafen_PSX

It’s quite easy actually, I prefer the M3U route

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to respond, Radius! It’s good to know that disc swapping is at least possible, but is there any way to do it from a frontend rather than going into the core options menu? I’m putting a cabinet together with a Hyperspin frontend, and I was hoping to be able to swap discs using the pause (hyperpause), or multi game function available in RocketLauncher.
