I’m looking for the best way to play retroarch portably in terms of speed and available cores (preferably some semblance of working PSX support would be preferred and definitely snes, Genesis, and Nes). I don’t have the option for Android right now, so between iOS 6s, jailed),3DS, DS, PSP, and Vita (or any other non android devices) what is the current best way to play portably?
I think n3DS is supposed to be pretty great but I’m not sure how/if PSX is full speed on it or how difficult it is to hack them currently. If you go iOS jailed, you’ll need a Mac+XCode to compile/sign it yourself and it does have some bugs, though some folks on the Apple subforum seem to have a pretty good handle on it.
Xcode isn’t a problem but I’m not super fond of having to reinstall every week due to apple’s signing requirements. Is there place where I can see the available cores for 3DS? I checked git but I just saw the app zips-no cores listed.
