Not taking about mirroring as that produces lag. I mean a tv out option that blanks the device screen and outputs video only on the external monitor/tv. Much like “YouTube” and “foxtel go” does
I’m pretty sure anything using the lightning connector will create lag regardless of how it is output?
What makes you think that a TV-out mode where the screen turns off would reduce/remove lag? Is there any proof of this? Surely video apps you can’t tell about ‘lag’ (like you can playing a game with a controller).
I’m all for it if it would help, I’m just not sure it would.
Regardless if you’re using a device with 30pin or lightning, I think that would be a great feature and am surprised it’s not already implemented. It would be great if it scaled properly and used the appropiate screen space for outputting in 4:3 or fullscreen in 16:9. In regards to the lag with the lightning to hdmi adapter, it’s slight and only affects games that require quick, accurate inputs and response, like fighting games and such. For many other games it’s not an issue, and for those with 30pin devices, there aren’t any issues. More cores and improvements in existing cores are great and welcomed, but RA could uses new features as well. TV out and other great ideas would be awesome, especially since RA has plans to become much much more than just for game emulation uses. Maybe one day, RA can not only be your go to for all emulation needs, but for multimedia needs as well; like being able to play any music file format or watching video files in mkv and such.
