So in addition to the PPSSPP core not auto loading saves, it won’t let me switch to the menu from a game. If I press the hotkeys to bring up the menu Retroarch crashes. This is after I deleted the PPSSPP core settings from the CFG file, so I’m not sure if that is related somehow. This sucks though because I can’t change the options for the core without loading the menu.
I had the same problem with the mupen64 core and got told to change the menu driver to rgui (shield TV)
Had to delete configs it to work but I use per core config ATM, soon to change to overrides.
Something like that may apply to ppssspp but not sure.
