Hi, I encounter a problem with my controller 8bitdo snes30 pro (the first version). I use it in xinput mode on pc. I don’t manage to make the home button interact as the hotkey. the button is identified in retroarch as 10 and is reconized during input attribution of the hotkey. but it doesn’t work. nothing happen. I only can mapped the home button on the command for exemple “open toggle menu” for exemple and it work. but not work when I use it as the hotkey. is their any limitation of the retroarch retropad or else? I could use it in d-input but I lost the vibration rumble of the gamepad. is someone was able to use it in xinput mode? thanks regards
Sounds familliar since 8bitdo Pro 2 started doing that too after a certain firmware, so had to downgrade. The exact problem is that the Guide button press does not stay down like the other buttons, but instead releases instantly, which naturally breaks any and all hotkey stuff.
hi, ok I understand why now thanks. and inside retoarch, is there any chance to add a feature to save this button click without released it in order to maintain the signal? thanks
AFAIK, 8bitdo controllers usually have at least one more mode than x-input and d-input; they use it for Switch and Android. Is this your model? Check this out: https://download.8bitdo.com/Manual/Controller/SN30+SF30/SN30_Manual.pdf. Perhaps you can try another mode.
Here, I also use 8bitdo controllers, but the Ultimate models. They all work fine, rumble and home button included. They’re recognized as “button 8”, although I’m using Linux, not Windows.
did you tried xmap or other third party software to bind it to a key? ive had this problem once with another controller and was able to bypass using it
Hi thanks, no my model is the first revision which looks like a real super nintendo pad but with the analog controller.do you knows if the new pro 3 controller will keep these button active on x input as your ultimate model?
Hi thanks I used joytokey when I was on hyperspin but since I pass to retrobat, I don t use it anymore, I would prefer just use the retropad inside retroarch. Maybe upgrade on the new pro 3
I can’t say for sure, but I once had a Pro 2 and could use it without issues with RetroArch, hotkeys included. Note, however, that there may be difference between operational systems.
Ok thank you I will see when buy it. Regards
