Ps1 bios not working

I’m not sure why it stopped working, i verified directory was still pointing at the propper folder, it was. Tried moving the bios directly into folder with game thinking maybe it was being redirected, no change. Downloaded a new set of bios, no change. Uninstalled cores and reinstalled, no change. Don’t really want to uninstall Retroarch and reinstall but will if nessisary. I don’t understand code well enough to see where the problem is, any help is appreciated, verbose log below.

It definitely isn’t finding your BIOS. If you already went to settings > directory and verified that it’s looking in the correct location and it used to work before, I would recommend moving your retroarch.cfg and ‘config’ directory somewhere else temporarily to see if you have a bad setting somewhere.

I moved the config files to my download folder, no change except menu type changed back to ozone. ps1 still getting same error, verbose log below.

ok here is the log.

Now ps1 is working with PSX ReArmed but not with Beetle, duck, or swanstation. Still no bios being detected.

PCSX-ReARMed has a built-in fake BIOS, yeah.

If it was working before and now doesn’t, and moving your configs elsewhere didn’t fix it, it’s probably not something internal to RetroArch that’s happened. That is, maybe your system dir had a change of permissions or something, but you probably won’t find a solution within RetroArch.

How would that happen? Windows 10 running as admin user. I don’t think I changed anything, Would a system update change something like that?

running as admin can do weird stuff to permissions sometimes. Can you try downloading a fresh installation from here: http://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.10.3/windows/x86_64/RetroArch.7z

Unzip it somewhere in your user’s path, such as your desktop or documents, etc. (i.e., not in Program Files or anywhere else that requires elevated privs to access) and see if it treats you any better?

Deleted previous install, unzipped to desktop, still no luck. I’m gonna have to dig an see what may have gotten changed somewhere I guess. Not sure what I may have done, hmm.

Fixed it! Uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ and reinstalled and it is working.
