I installed RetroArch on a PlayStation 2, which I connected to a CRT TV. I wanted to try two NES games (with FCE and QuickNES), but the games stutter even though I set the video to 240p. Do you have any advice on how to get NES games to work?
Hmm, i thought QuickNES was supposed to work well on PS2. Is your audio crackling when it stutters?
Audio and video ,same problem for FCE and Quick Nes
Hmm, yeah, sounds like it’s dropping frames, then. Do you have any video filters active? You can also try setting the audio resampler in settings > audio to something faster-but-lower-quality.
I selected 240p resolution, no active filter, and disabled v-sync. Now I’ll try some audio settings. Thanks for the support.
Enabling V Sync makes things a lot better,
Probably not powerful enough to run them. The Wii was the last console that could do 240p and run some retroarch cores decently. Much better get a PC, slot an old Radeon as a 2nd card and crt-emudriver, i can run whatever i want on such a system like Saturn, ps2 on original resolutions with switchres
Depends on the emulator, there are emulators that are highly accurate and not that easy to run i guess. QuickNES should run at least.
