There is a flop in FBA core controls. In original stand-alone FBA for PS3 one of the controls buttons (Third, if I recall correctly) is bind to the ‘Y’ key by default. As you know DualShock have no such button, so if player won’s bind it to something else he would have no means to use some actions. Example: in Shadow over Mystara hero cant use an item or cast a spell. Point is: in retro arch there is no way rebind the keys for FBA core, so in future version the link with ‘y’ key should be replaced with ‘R1’ button and everythig will be fine with FBA controls. Thank you for your time and the greatest Emu-machine on the PS3. Looking forward for the next rev.
I just ran into this problem today while playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Player 1 cannot switch items.
This was on Windows using an Xbox360 controller. The controls for arcade games seem to vary based on which player you are. P2 for example seems to be able to do everything. P1 cannot. I haven’t tested P3 or P4 because I don’t have that many controllers.
I’ve had this problem since day one of using RetroArch. I tried to inquire about the issue over a month ago on IRC, but I’m unsure of the current status on this. The button mappings appear to be inconsistent between P1 and P2 - I specifically noticed this on both D&D games (ddsom and ddtod).

It’s been due to me being too lazy to add specific controls for it. Sorry about that.
Will get around to it now that I’m porting 0.2.97.27.
It’ll be much appreciated as the D&D games are quite fun to play when I’m showing off the system to others - thanks for your continued work on RetroArch.
Any progress on this? Doesnt seem to be fixed in .27? (compiling for the pi, but its the same problem for ddsom and ddtod)
It has been fixed in .27.
Test if your controllers are properly mapped with RetroArch.
Also, I very much doubt those games are going to run at playable rates on a Raspberry Pi going off what ToadKing told me about the performance of FBA on it.
Aye, Im an idiot.
Performance is “ok” on the pi, sfa3 is not 100%, but a lot of the other ones are at least playable… somewhat.
Any chance that “fbacores” will be published into .27 at some point? Makes it easier to compile.
