Ok, maybe it is something hard to do or really far away on the priorities list, maybe just my ps3 is acting weird… well, many “maybes”, so i’ll ask for it anyway and if it’s a stupid request i’ll just apologise later
I’m having some trouble configuring retroarch (FBA core specifically). Is there a way to make each game have its own “config set”? things like button mapping, shader, aspect ratio, etc. Specially the button layout, since each game needs a specific “setup” For example: NeoGeo games have their four buttons well “named” (A B C D) but with CPS 2 games, things change a bit. some games uses 4 buttons (dungeons&dragons: attack, jump, select and use), others uses 6 buttons (fighting games: 3 punches+3 kicks).
Depending on the way you config your buttons, you could play a game like sf alpha 3 normally, but end up with unused “face” buttons and some function in the shoulder buttons when playing D&D or another game (what’s not the best layout in a 4-button game) i.e. good layout in game A is completely messed up in game B and vice versa
the same applies for some filters and options. so, if each game had its own config file (like a .ini file) and a “default” config for all games without a “custom” configuration, that’d be an excellent update in RetroArch
the second request is about how you choose the core. For some reason my retroarch started with the VBA Core, but i intend to use it mostly for arcade emulation. So… what if we got a “please choose your libretro core” screen when starting retroarch? it’s better than navigating through menus or having to boot a gba game before using the FBA core
Well, that’s all i wanted to ask. Retroarch is an awesome homebrew, And you guys are really talented. My sincere thanks for your efforts
