PS3 version.. no roms showing up..?

Are you supposed to put them in a specific place or named folder…? I’ve tried on the root of my usb drive in folders on the same drive, on the root of the PS3 HDD in named folders Snes, PSX, GBA, etc zipped/unzipped all supported roms & nothing… where am I going wrong?

Thanks.

EDIT:

Tried zipping some .gba roms & now they show up… but RetroArch reports an error when I try to load them…? (they work fine on different PC emu’s)

Do you have the right core selected?

I’m pretty sure this is where it all goes wrong for people who can’t figure out how this works by themselves - at the top of the menu screen it tells you which ‘core’ is currently active. For GBA you would need ‘vBA Next’. If it doesn’t say that, then you are not going to be able to load GBA ROMs.

Thanks, I figured it out eventually… How long are the roms supposed to take to load? I’ve only tried a couple of .gba ones so far & they are taking several minutes to load.

That’s definitely not normal. It should be more or less instant - perhaps a few seconds or so.

Are you loading these ROMs from the PS3’s harddrive or from an external source such as a USB stick? If so, your mileage may vary.

From usb… should I transfer them to the internal HDD?

It will obviously go much, much faster.
