PSX emulation - screen goes black

Hello people,

I recently installed retroarch. I’m trying to play some PSX games on my Ipad Air

I read about the current problems described that affect A7 64-bit processors. I followed MrSevenX’s advice and installed Playstaion1 (Non-JB)(PCSX ReARMed).

My problem: Trying to play Final fantasy IX, it displays “produced by squaresoft” then screen goes black and nothing happens. It’s supposed to play the intro film.

My BIOS and rom works on my computer emulator.

You have to install specific bios on psx core to get it work. Look around here, maybe you can find which ones you need.

Thanks for the reply.

As I wrote the BIOS I’ve put on my Ipad Air works with the game on PC. Surely I don’t need a special BIOS.

The playstation core boots fine with PSX logo and such, then the game starts with the first text.

But the intro video never comes up. Screen just black with no sound.

I don’t think Playstaion1 (Non-JB)(PCSX ReARMed) can runs Final fantasy IX. Right now you can try other games or wait tell iOS 8 jailbreak from Evasi0n because they always the best when it comes on using Playstaion1 (PCSX ReARMed) core. I tried the game myself it only show the first text then black screen. Then I tried the game on iPad 3 running 7.0.4 using Playstaion1 (PCSX ReARMed) core and it works flawlessly.

Trust me… When i wanted to play Crash bandicoot team racing happened the same. Strarts the intro but then, the screen turns black. Until i installed the correct bios, everything started to work perfectly.

As I stated, I was almost 100 % sure I got the correct BIOS for the game Incognit. I tried other BIOS-files but to no avail. But thanks Incognit.

Thanks MrSevenX.

I found FFIX among my old stuff when visiting my parents, but couldn’t find the memory card to the PSX -__-
