PSX rearmed suddenly slow

I’m using ipod touch 5th gen. It was working fine and smooth before so maybe I adjusted some settings. That’s the only thing I can think of because now it stutters really slow through the games.

I’m using the newest release, and I’m on JB 6.0.1

But the problem happened before I updated to the newest release, so that’s not it. Can someone tell me how to do a complete reset to default settings? Already deleted and reinstalled. Nothing changed.

i believe all of the settings are stored in the .retroarch directory, so uninstalling and nuking that folder before reinstall should get it, I think

I’ll give it a try, thanks. I might have to come back here if I forgot something I needed to do for setup. I know I had some initial problems with permissions and such.

Well that worked, I didn’t nuke the whole folder but I deleted the cfg files that I thought would make sense. Thanks!

Sweet. Glad you got it worked out

Me too, it saved me from wanting to spend $600 on an unlocked android phone. For now, the only major system I can’t run properly is N64. I can wait awhile for that. If Saturn is ever working smoothly I think I’d jump on buying a powerful phone at that point.

iOS (jailbroken) performs better than pretty much any android phone

I thought it was the other way around? BTW, should N64 be very slow on the Ipod 5? Is the touch 5 just too underpowered?

Without jailbreak yeah I guess underpowered, but afaik iOS is better in pretty much performance benchmark. With jailbreak you can enable dynarecs and performance should be better and more importantly, consistent

Well N64 runs at like 1 frame per 2 seconds on jailbreak 6.0.1. One of the reasons why I might consider buying an android tab or something like that. Ipods will always be way behind the power curve. And as RetroArch adds systems like Saturn, and maybe even PS2 in the future, I will have to go with a more powerful hardware. For now I have plenty to catch up to with SNES -> Sega CD -> PSX.

oh iPod, I was thinking iPhone, my bad. BTW, a cheap brix or nuc hooked up to a monitor will be way better for retrogaming than any portable device

brix? nuc? Also I like the portability of it. Having a gametel hooked to my ipod, it feels almost like a portable system on it’s own. I enjoy the novelty of that. I’m hoping some day some company makes a build in controller with a pad. I know there is one out there but I mean something smaller like the size of a smart phone.
