Question regarding the nvidia shield controller

I bought the shield tv console. (runs everything flawlessly with high end shaders) and I’m not sure if this is a problem or anything. Does pressing on the nvidia button on the controller do anything? When I press it, it seems everything on the controller freezes except the back and home buttons and I can’t do anything unless I reload retroarch.
I’m not sure if this is related, but it seems after that happens and I reload retroarch, the options and everything else I configured seem to have reset back to the defaults. Has anyone experienced this?

It should trigger the menu, it does for me at least. What version are you running?

1.2.2 from the play store.

I have 1.2.2 and have the Nvidia button mapped to quit retroarch which sends me back to gamesome. works that way fine.
