Quick question regarding windows setup and cores

Hi all hope everyone ok.

I’m currently building up a arcade system and have come across this amazing site.

my question is when I download the latest build for windows is does not include any cores but gives me a option to download them.

Do I just download the ones I need (mainly mame) or do I download all the cores from the archive section which I believe is cores 1.0.0.2 (this one includes mame .152) is this correct.

reason I ask is because I would like a stable build and cores to run, I can rebuild my romset to match but just wanted to know which way works best.

You should use the latest cores from the online updater. However, the mame-git core has some rendering issues, so I would recommend using the mame2014 snapshot, which is ~0.157, I think.

so ive been to online updater, selected mame2014 and it says its version 0.159 does that sound about right.
