Red Samurai controller

I read a few posts of some of you who have had issues with the Red Samurai controller. I had the Gametop wireless controller, but it didn’t work with RA, so I exchanged it for the Nyko Playpad Pro, which would not properly sync with my Nexus 7. I returned it today and bought the Red Samurai. It’s a nice little controller. Works with several other games and emulators, but the issue I am having with RA (Sega Genesis emulator tested thus far) is that the d-pad won’t work, but the left analog stick will. None of the buttons work. In fact, one of the d-pad directionals controls the jump option, which of course should be one of the buttons. Is there a way to map the buttons to my liking, or is there just compatibility issues with Red Samurai?

I would really like to get this to work. By far, RA is the best looking emulator I have seen and Sonic the Hedgehog (my all-time favorite game) looks fantastic on it. I want to play it on RA if possible. It’s not bad without a controller. The touchscreen controls are smooth, but I would prefer to use a controller.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks.

@lab0red have you tried manual configuration?

When you say manual configuration, do you mean mapping out the keys so to speak, or are you referring to some kind of programming or bios manipulation, which I have no experience with.

If you are suggesting the former, I do not know how to manually configure a gamepad in RetroArch.

It’s in the manual. In short, go into the settings > input settings > disable autodetect and then use the manual configuration menu to map the buttons.

Great…just did it. It was easy. Thank you! It’s now working like a charm.

Thanks again.
