Reicast Core crashes on loading roms

Tried turning off threaded video, vsync, hard gpu sync just to make sure it wasn’t the same problem as mupen64plus core had, no go, any ideas?

Can you get us a retroarch log? Other things to check would be: make sure you have a ‘dc’ directory in your ‘system’ directory, and that the dc directory contains your bios files. Also, make sure that your system directory is user-writeable.

Same problem here. Reicast crashes on loading any game. Ive also tried a different number of video / audio settings but nothing works so far.

Ok, not sure if its the same problem aorin1 is having but I tried a different bios set and it seems to be working now. No longer crashes.

Just a general update on Reicast. If you’re getting a crash upon loading any game try a different bios set. Below is a list of games I’ve personally tested on my box running the 64 bit pc version.

Power Stone - works perfectly w/ very minor graphical issues. GDI Power Stone 2 - crashes after the monitor refresh election screen. GDI Dino Crisis - crashes and won’t load. GDI Bomberman Online - When any FMV is playing it causes bad slowdown, however does not effect gameplay. GDI Re-Volt - loads but none of the 2d graphics in the menu are displayed so can’t navigate menu. Not playable. GDI Marvel vs Capcom - initial load screen stutters(I’m assuming it’s a intro movie of some kind) but once it gets to the menu works 100%. GDI Marvel vs Capcom 2 - Works 100% perfect. GDI Jet Grind Radio - Near perfect from what I can tell. CDI Cannon Spike - Loads but has major graphical glitches. Not playable. CDI Project Justice - Crashes. Does not load. CDI Street Fighter 3 third Strike - Works perfectly. GDI Soul Caliber - Works perfectly. GDI Sonic Adventure 2 - Loads but has slowdown issues and stuttering audio. GDI Resident Evil Code Veronica - Does not load. GDI Gauntlet Legends - Loads but pretty bad graphical glitches. GDI San Francisco Rush 2049 - auto loads into bios… Tried selecting “play” in bios, just reloads bios. GDI Vigilante 8 Second Offense - Major Graphical problems. Not playable. GDI

Noted which roms I have which are either CDI or GDI. I would recommend trying GDI if you are experiencing problems with a CDI game, I have found games run much better when using GDI.
