RetroArch 0.9.8b3 (Beta 3) - PS3 Resolution Reset Bug - HDMI VDU>SDTV

Hi folks.

As the thread title says, I’ve noticed a resolution reset bug whereby on one gaming session, I was playing Super Mario All-Stars (Super Mario Bros.), Killer Instinct, Secret of Mana and Mega Man X (Snes9x core) on my Samsung SyncMaster B2430 HD monitor at a resolution of 1920x1080 with the aspect ratio set to 3:2.

Once I’ve finished playing on that aforementioned visual setup (PC HD(MI) monitor), I then decided to use my SD CRT television (Panasonic 21inch (gonna have to take a look later on for the model)), and once I started up the emulator, it started up with garbled visuals, as shown below:

Under normal circumstances, the emulator would usually reset itself back to the lowest possible resolution, but for some reason, as shown in the image above, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

Tested Emulator Version: RetroArch 0.9.8b3 (Sony PlayStation 3) - compiled by pete_uk @ PS3Crunch - mediafire.com/download.php?drdqd0pchxp34d1 (the URL BBCode tags and the “http://” sections/parts have been omitted in order for me to submit the thread - otherwise it would throw up a “too many links” error).

Yeah - the resolution switching functions have become broken on the PS3 port.

I’ll have to fix that before doing the official release. I’ll try to look at it today and/or tomorrow.

Also, I’ll look at including the temporal PAL mode this time as well.

Thanks Square!

Keep up the good work and I’ll be looking forward to the official release.

For now though, I just deleted the retroarch.cfg file in the program’s directory.
