RetroArch 1.7.2 PS1 emulation confusion

Hi,

I’m running RetroArch 1.7.2 on Win7. Can’t run any PS1 game. Followed bunch of topics, none worked so far.

I do have PS1 bios files - couple of them at the moment, actually. They are located in the System folder and named correctly. What I can’t figure out is which checksums I need?

The Mednafen site says: scph5500.bin 9c0421858e217805f4abe18698afea8d5aa36ff0727eb8484944e00eb5e7eadb scph5501.bin 11052b6499e466bbf0a709b1f9cb6834a9418e66680387912451e971cf8a1fef scph5502.bin 1faaa18fa820a0225e488d9f086296b8e6c46df739666093987ff7d8fd352c09

I’m totally lost and don’t understand which files to use. So far nothing works on PCSX ReArmed, Beetle PSX and Beetle PSX HW. Please help!

Load the core (no game needed) and go to the “Information” menu. There, is a “Core Information” option that shows the correct checksum, and the status the files (detected or not).

The checksums are correct. I set the graphics driver to Vulkan and I get black screen. What am I doing wrong?

Your graphics card (or the drivers) support vulkan? Try OpenGL or software mode to be sure. You can get very good results with Software mode and the xbrz-freescale shader, very nice graphics like hardware mode but with the software mode compatibility. and perfect perfomance in my system.
