RetroArch crashing with N64

I have retroarch running multiple other systems. But can not get n64 to run. Here is my log. I have tried multiple audio and video drivers. I have even tried multiple sets of retroarch. I can get the games to run in other emulators. But I want retroarch. Any help please and thank you.

Same thing here http://pastebin.com/VDSzZK6C It’s a problem known since last year and I don’t understand why nobody has done anything about it yet. Parallel doesn’t work either since it just closes the whole program when loading a game meaning RetroArch can’t emulate N64 anymore.

I was holding onto an old build of Mupen64, so I don’t know if it broke recently. But I’ve been using the Glupen64 core lately and it’s quite good. Should generally be more compatible and have less graphical glitches than the normal Mupen core. It’s in the updater for Win64 now. Note that you may get a black screen when using shaders; if you do, enable HW Shared Context in RetroArch’s core settings.

That doesn’t work either because it crashes when going full-screen. Everything regarding N64 really does seem broken right now.

@OP This line suggests that your GPU driver lacks a key feature needed by the core: RetroArch [INFO] :: Querying GL extension: ARB_framebuffer_object => doesn’t exist What kind of GPU do you have? Are you using the vendor’s latest driver or just whatever Windows installs automatically?

@SakuraDrops Your problem is different, as it appears you’re actually getting in-game (even if it doesn’t actually show anything yet) before it crashes.

I’m using Intel onboard GPU. With current updates runs all other games well.

Glupen64 actually did work for me once I restarted windows. Mupen64 on the other hand still doesn’t which sucks because it’s the only one with an overclock feature. If it really doesn’t work for anyone it should be removed from the update list until there is an actual working version.

@SakuraDrops It works for me currently, and it works for the other contributors, AFAIK. It can be brittle/crashy on my system, depending on core options, but it works.
@SakuraDrops It works for me currently, and it works for the other contributors, AFAIK. It can be brittle/crashy on my system, depending on core options, but it works.
But then why would it crash when I try it? How can I make it work?

Dunno, but to say “it doesn’t work for me, so it must not work for anyone and therefore should be removed unless/until it works for me” is nonsense.

It does seem weird though if everything else works. Well how do I go into the core settings to change things and see if that works? Without runing a game it doesn’t show any options?

Open retroarch-core-options.cfg and remove everything that concerns mupen64.

Make sure there’s no override for options or shaders too (configs folder and shaders/presets)

It shouldn’t crash with the default settings.

Shaders can cause issues like this with this core, try without one or use the glsl stock shader to be sure.

update I got RetroArch running N64 games. I installed a cheap graphics card then let windows pull only the driver from the install disk. No conflicting graphic software this way I’m guessing. Reinstalled RetroArch (cause I deleted it out of rage) put my base settings in and poof it works. I can run a game with logging if anyone needs to see settings later today.
