Retroarch for Android not saving config

I’ve had Retroarch on my phone for a few months, but I don’t use it often. Whenever I set the core/save/file browser directories, save my config, and close the app, the configuration doesn’t actually save. When I reopen the app it’s back to the old config, and I have to manually search through my phone’s filesystem for roms again.

My roms and save files are on my phone’s sd card.

Is there anything I’m doing wrong?

Are you “exiting cleanly”? That is, after you play a game or whatever, do you go to the ‘quit retroarch’ option in the menu? RetroArch writes changes to the config when you exit that way, so if you don’t do it, they never get written.

If that doesn’t help, you can try going into settings > directories you can try making your config directory somewhere user-writeable but not on removeable storage (that is, try putting it somewhere in your built-in storage).

I’ve had the same issue on my Shield Android TV with the nightlies lately. And I’ve read on other forums that I’m not the only one. Going back to stable 1.3 fixed it.
