Retroarch Freezing on Phone

My phone has a Mediatek MT6577 chipset(dual core 1ghz cortex a9,512 mb ram)

Basically ,the app will just randomly freeze while playing a game.Can either happen the moment a ROM is loaded,or after a while. Happened on the pcsx re-armed and all the nes cores(haven’t tested on others)

On pre-1.0.0 builds,it only happened rarely or occassionaly but current builds have it happening much frequently

I noticed that it never happens when I don’t acess the RGUI menu

If it’s freezing the app and not the entire phone, could you post a logcat?

i have the same problem when i play ps/nes/snes games?but ios ver. not,can anybody fix this?

maybe 'Threaded video driver‘ in video option is the problem?when i turn it off ?no freeze again on my device

im having a similar issue with pcsx rearmed since the 1.0+ release (i didnt not have these issues with 0.9.7) pcsx rearmed simply freezes and doesn’t work anymore

Can second this, but for me

  1. It only happens when Threaded Video is turned on and
  2. It’s not just rearmed, it happens with a few cores including the NES ones (but not VBA)

I expect it’s a threading error causing deadlocks. I’m having trouble getting a logcat though- I just tried and my device hard reset instead of staying on the “Wait | Force Close” popup. I’ll keep trying.

Yeah I was actually just testing it with Threaded Video set to off and it doesn’t seem to be freezing anymore.

device: Nexus 4, Android 4.4.2
