RetroArch iOS: MAME 2003 (0.78) samples location

Hi everyone,

I’m a happy user of RetroArch (an impressive piece of software indeed), for wich many thanks to the devs.

Since the MAME 2003 core was introduced In RA iOS (my version of choice), I noticed that - while compatible romsets (0.78) play fine - audio samples (where present) don’t play at all. My directory structure on my iDevices is as follows:

Documents (RA’s default Content Directory) --------- |–mame -------------- |–rom (contains zipped romsets) -------------- |–sample (contains zipped samplesets whose filenames match those of the corresponding romsets in’ rom’ subdir.)

Where am I wrong? Is there a specific location samples and other extra files used by mame (i.e. artwork files) go to? Also, for games that need .chd files to run (i.e. Killer Instinct), is this file placement ok?

Documents ---------|–mame --------------|–rom --------------|— |–kinst (dir) --------------|— |— |–kinst.chd (file) ------------------|–kinst.zip (file)

Thank you all.

I think my kinst/2 chds are in the same directory as the actual rom zips.

I don’t think samples work at all, whether audio or video. I could be wrong on that, though.

Thanks, maybe you’re right and samples just aren’t (yet?) supported.

As for chds, MAME typically expects them to be in individual subdirs of the rom folder, each named after the corresponding zipfile. I’ll try both ways when I grab/convert some .chd files.

i think mame 0.78 is very old and dont support chd files for cps3 y others.

mame4ios reloaded 0.139 working perfect whit chd files like street fighters 3,jojo,red earth.etc
