RetroArch, MAME, trigger A+B press when another pad button pressed

Game: WWF WrestleMania Gamepad: Retrobit 6 button Sega Genesis pad. Used cores: FBNeo or Mame2003Plus, but I don’t think these don’t affect current my issue.

So arcades have 5 button setups, and as you may noticed I have picked up 6 button pad. For WWE, there is 6th action which is A+B to RUN. This action was Y key on pad for Genesis. In MAME Y button is not used at all.

Is there a way to create Macro/Hotkey which will press AB when Y is pressed?

Asked AI, and many answers were just simply wrong, “you can use app X to bind”, “ah, wait this app can bind controller buttons only to keyboard…”

In SteamInput I managed to add A+B key press when Y is hit (in Desktop Layout - so applies globally) But because in RetroArch Y is unbinded, I’m assuming it’s ignored entirely.

There definitely is more correct solution, but after a while I figured out that next to pad buttons, there are also keyboard keys which acts as input copy. B key on pad - Keyboard key Z - both will act as Button 1/2/3/4/5.

So I added two KB keys to JoyToKey for Y pad press, and now it acts as A+B.

anything like that you know that exists on Android?

Unfortunately no, only during search few times I did saw site mentioned where you visually could generate control configuration. Maybe that thing could do it, but I don’t even have URL. https://valent-in.github.io/retropad-editor/ - but seems it’s made for different purpose.

Better ask human intelligence.

Short answer, in RetroArch you can’t use macros, combos or combinations. The only one that does is FBNeo natively, but I don’t know how if it is something customizable.
