I don’t know how reproducible this particular issue is, but every now and then, when I load up RetroArch Wii 1.0.0, it will result in a black screen, and the Wii remote shuts off, no sound, no GUI, nothing, just a blank screen. I’m using Joostinonlines HBC forwarder on vWii if that helps. The same happens when using the RetroArch Wii forwarder channel, that too will result in a blank screen seemingly at random. But one thing I did notice, if I go from the Wii U menu to the vWii menu, then to RetroArch via HBC forwarder, it seems to increase the likelihood of the crash. Version 0.9.9 never crashed like this, I can’t for the life of me identify the true cause, but I’ll try going from system menu to system menu to see if it happens again.
I have this same bug, but using the 1.0.2 version.
I have wii hooked to a CRT TV. If I put wii at 224p resolution, it runs ok. The bug occurs only when I try to run RA a second time.
If I delete the config file created at the SD card root, then RA works again, but just this time.
Oddly enough, 1.0.2 doesn’t have this issue, but 1.0.0 did for me, so I’m not sure what’s going on. It’s really inconsistent.
I figured out that if I use RA at 224p and switch the resolution to 480i before exiting, the bug doesn’t appear. That is, if the last resolution set isn’t 224p, then there isn’t bug. The bug is only related to 224p resolutions.
