I have downloaded retroarch (all available to windows 32 bit) All I get is the dos looking version in green. I don’t get the pretty red version that looks like modern software. Am I missing a download somewhere?
P.S. I did have issues starting the app. it would crash at launch. I fixed that from switching “video_menu to RGUI” in the retroarch.CFG file.

The green menu is RGUI. The fancy menu is called XMB. You could try the GLUI menu, which has high-res fonts and mimics the “material design” rules from Google.
The xmb menu driver only works with the opengl driver I think, maybe something is wrong with your gpu drivers?
thanks guys. I have a old core 2 duo with a integrated Intel Q45/43 graphics. my guess is it does not even do open gl.
I dug around and found an old NVidia card. Works like a champ now. Thanks! Now on to figuring out how to use it.
