Retropad/keyboard input analog sticks not working

Hi All, I’m hoping this is down to my own stupidity.

The analog sticks don’t respond when I press the configured keys on my keyboard, all the other keys seem to work. Checked it with Retropad remote core, and with Mupen64plus. Does anyone know if the is a known issue with the current nighties? or does someone have an idiot proof guide to setting this up?

Running:

MacBook Pro early 2011 MacOS Sierra Retroarch nightly 6/11/2016

Did you tried selecting retropad with analog?

thanks for the reply.

Yep with the device type set to “RetroPad w/ Analog” the keys still don’t respond.

OOOOOOOH, you are using a keyboard, didnt read that, as far as I know, you can’t use analog with Dpad or keys.

it does work on my raspberry pi with a usb connected keyboard.

On iOS doesn’t work either. If im not wrong on an old build this worked with dpad.

I’ve created an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/3954

hopefully devs take a look at it.
