I recently downloaded Retroarch Wii 1.0.0.2 after not having used my Wii for quite a while. The previous version I used was an older version that did not include the rewind feature. I was excited to try out the rewind feature, and it works wonderfully with the SNES and Genesis cores that I have tried so far. However, when attempting to use it with with any of the NES cores, it does not seem to be working for me. When I press the button that I have programmed for the rewind function, I see the text ‘Rewinding…’ in the lower left corner of the screen, but all that happens is that the audio becomes distorted during the time that I am holding the button. During this time, the game progresses forward at normal speed and no rewinding occurs. Is this a known problem, or have I done something wrong? Thanks!
After further testing I’ve found that this problem only effects certain ROMs. Of those I have tested…
Rewind doesn’t work
Super Mario Bros Castlevania III
Rewind works
Super Mario Bros 2 Super Mario Bros 3 Castlevania Castlevania II Metroid The Legend of Zelda
I will test mine at home later. Are those roms with the issues part of the No-Intro romset? I know Castlevania III Jap version has an additional sound chip, are you playing the USA rom or Jap rom? Perhaps that could have something to do with it? Is the Super Mario Bros rom the single game only rom, or part of a the SMB/Duck Hunt compilation cart?
Ok I tested SMB and Castlevania III on the Nestopia core and both rewind the emulation when I try it.
THANKS!
The combo of using No-Intro ROM files and the Nestopia core did the trick for me.
Glad you got it working
