Sega cd with retroarch 1.0.0.1

How to run sega cd on ps3?

1- I have game folders with cue bin and maps files 2- not sure where bios files go and naming conventions. I put them in the retroarch system file in the games folder but all games freeze and I have to hard reset.

Any advice?

The Sega CD BIOS files need to be named “BIOS_CD_J.bin“, “BIOS_CD_U.bin” and “BIOS_CD_E.bin“ and should be moved into the RA system folder.

OK, I placed the bios files, correctly named, in the following folder:

games/SSNE1000/USRDIR/cores/system/

But the system freezes when I load a bin or ISO file.

Any suggestions?

This is driving me nuts. I cannot find a guide or anything to resolve this …

OK, I tried a fresh BIOS set and get it working. However, when games load the music does not play - although I can hear the sound effects. I have tried loading from bin, cue, and ISO, with no luck. Is there a way to get the game to recognise the audio files?

Thanks

bin/cue with WAV audio should work. It won’t work with Ogg/mp3.

OK, I converted the mp3 files to WAV, but the sound failed to play. Then I found a great program called sega cd cue maker, rebuilding the cue files from the original game files. Will check if it works tonight.

Yeah, if you convert to WAV, you’ll need to edit the cue accordingly.
