Sega Genesis cheats format

Hi everyone;

I have a cheat that I want to use with RetroArch-360. I made the cheat so I have the address:data and also converted it to GameGenie format. I would appreciate if someone could provide me with a sample xml cheat file for RetroArch.

Thanks JMaX

You can’t use cheats right now on RetroArch 360 at all. It’s not implemented.

It may be planned for the future but it’s not in the 360, PS3, Wii, Xbox 1 or Android versions right now.

Thanks for the reply! For now I guess I’ll just hard-code it in the rom till cheats are implemented btw, great work on the Android port, with a little improvements on the GUI and donation version that’s identical to the free version it’ll be the best emu package on handheld ever!

Ikr! but seriously, guys you’re putting too much effort into this, but you’re kicking anyone who wants to help, some people just want to show you appreciation by donations. I know you don’t do it for the money, but this is just another way to let people say thank you. Everyone does it, even XBMC. Everything’s free but if someone wanted to get you a beer they’ll be able to then :slight_smile:

Actually I might have changed my mind on this. It seems anybody gifting us an iPad 2 is simply too much to ask for, so instead I think a ‘donation fundraiser’ ONLY for an iPad 2 might be fair and permissible. It would be closed as soon as the necessary money is reached for buying an iPad 2 - I’ve said before that I really don’t like this donation racket but if this is the only way for people to actively help out in making the project become bigger and better, then this is what we have to do. I don’t see myself doing outrageous thousand-dollar kickstarters - I just need crucial stuff like an iPad 2 for doing an iOS port of Retroarch (and it doesn’t look like I can count on too many people to do all that work and release it for free - so it falls upon myself to do it then).

We really need to expand to iOS - that is the last frontier really - I have a Blackberry Playbook myself so I can port to that by myself, but I simply don’t have an iOS device - Apple TV 2 has too little RAM (256MB) and lacks a touchscreen, so we really need the iPad 2 for development purposes - iPad 1 is simply too weak and will not do for testing.

+1 That’s the best thing to do!

A donation version we are definitely not going to do. This is not a money racket - when I need something I will tell you exactly what it is that I need for development purposes (in this case an iPad 2) - the hope is there then that people will put their money where their mouth is and help me out with obtaining hardware that can help the development of this project. If I have to go to the effort of doing a ‘ChipIn’ or some other ‘donation fundraiser’ thing because people don’t want to ‘gift’ an entire iPad 2, then I guess we will have to do that and momentarily I’ll have to go over my reluctance on donations for a very short time until the funds are accrued.

That will be greatly appreciated. But just a money pool by itself - no thanks to that.
