Shaders cause lag

I’m trying to use the single pass shader “scanline” but it causes the frame rate to drop. I’m using a fourth gen ipad. Is the device just not powerful enough to use shaders?

It’s very possible for shaders to cause framerate drops, but I would have expected a 4th gen ipad to be able to handle that one. My first gen HTC One phone can do that one without slowdown.

Why else would I be getting lag, if it’s not the device’s fault? Could it be a driver issue?

If it’s full speed without shaders it probably means GPU isn’t up to the task

Actually it’s a third gen ipad, my mistake. I guess this model just isn’t powerful enough? What minimum specs do you recommend?
