Hi! I like the wii 16x9 so much. Thank you! Any way to edit the bezels to make the only dark gray layer show? I mean, removal of the speakers and the button panel. I’m trying to get as much screen estate as possible to play 16x9 patched games and the DC games. What should I edit? Please help. Thanks.

The Sega Master System TV art looks beautiful - I wish it was real :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

If you load One of the Mega Bezel base presets, (e.g. \shaders\shaders_slang\bezel\Mega_Bezel\Presets\Base_CRT_Presets\MBZ__3__STD__GDV.slangp) set the aspect to 16x9, and the “Non-Integer Scale %” to 95.00, you will get this.

Pretty much the game screen with some surrounding Bezel/Reflections. You could also change the Bezel color to something a bit lighter.

That last shot is using a 240p DREZ base preset to show scanlines, with some tweaks to the corner rotation offset, and a 25.00 Value for the Bezel color. (You could use the Scanline Opposite Direction Multiplier parameter or fake scanlines at 240p… instead of a DREZ preset.)

If you are adamant about using the Wii preset than use these settings to get just the bezel.

HSM_ASPECT_RATIO_MODE = "1.000000"
HSM_ASPECT_RATIO_EXPLICIT = "1.916000"
HSM_NON_INTEGER_SCALE = "83.970000"
HSM_SCREEN_POSITION_Y = "-14.000000"
HSM_BG_SCALE = "130.400000"
HSM_BG_SCALE_X = "108.300000"
HSM_BG_POS_Y = "-8.250000"

Just wanna say, love this! Before I found this I loved the idea of bezels, but rarely used them since allot cut off sometimes huge parts of the screen (i didnt know you could adjust or move the display before) so often didnt use them. But i found mega bezels recently and fell in love and found yours and a few other packs and now almost all games i play with bezels! even 16:9 like the wii are bezeled!

Quick question: is there a way to change the scan line type? i figure its probably a parameter but not sure where to even start

Hello again. :grin:

When you are first in the parameters dialog, press up and you will be taken to the end of the parameter list where all the Guest shader settings are.

Scroll up a few sections until you see [ SCANLINE OPTIONS ].

Scanline Type is the first parameter in the section.

On the off chance that mask settings are what you’re looking for, they are a couple of sections below that.

Your ui seems to be different than mine. What ui are you using? mine has this

I found it, but changing it over doesnt appear to change the name of the shader names, still getting “dhader #28” ect. Fixing this would make it leagues easier to fiddle with these lol

That is the shader chain. Don’t mess with that. You need to go into the “shader parameters”

it was litterally right in my face… thanks for helping me find it!

@Duimon holy options batman, lots of things to play with! I think this will even help me resize the screen output in another mega bezel project!

on a side note, when looking at the “daylight” screen it feels like theres almost a blueish haze to the screen on the regular options, as though sunlight is hitting a real crt. Not sure if its a placebo effect since i cant seem to find the option to toggle that feature but i swear its there!. its really REALLY cool, but can distract from a stream

Is this an option im scrolling past or just placebo from just expecting it to be there since its that convincing?

I’d need to know exactly which preset you are asking about to give a precise answer.

Certain presets use an additional phosphor layer for the screen that is affected by the ambient light. Like a real CRT, it effects the contrast in daylight.

When the phosphor layer is enabled there is also a shadow cast on the top of the screen from the surrounding bezel.

@HyperspaceMadness pulled out all the realism stops developing the Mega Bezel. Combined with a realistic screen reflection (Another optional image layer.) it gives the tube a photo realistic look.

Here is an example that also showcases the shader’s ability to auto scale to ultra wide displays.

Hi @soqueroeu and @Duimon, I’m working on a simple overlay loader to be used with another emulator. Are these backgrounds public and allowed to be used with other emulators (with credits/license of course) with minimal editions?

ive noticed it on the gamecube model specifically, and a few other “generic” tvs under the console presets. It was kind of a surreal experience the first time, i got halfway out of my chair to flick off the lights cause i couldnt see a damn thing during the darker scenes of the Resident Evil intro on gamecube! Then i realized “oh yeah…its just an effect” so switched over to the night variant. it also helps set the mood for playing horror games though!

It is extreamly realistic and really great work on everyones parts honestly! I now want that realistic screen reflection!

It is a balancing act though for streaming, gotta add enough that it adds to the whole “retro stream” experience without adding so much that it distracts from the actual stream, otherwise id have everything set for max realism!!

Here’s an example of what im looking at

Normally my license prohibits the distribution of modifications. I can make an exception though, and for you I will.

If you need specific modifications of my work , we could talk and I would be willing to make the changes for you.

Thank you, Duimon. Though it won’t be necessary. I’ll explain in a PM for you.

Quick Question: Under the [Cropping Core Image] section of the parameters for some of these, does cropping any side cause the final image to shrink or stretch at all, like if I crop it would a perfect circle no longer be a perfect circle or does it simply eliminate the space entirely? I’m trying to crop the black bar on the left hand side out of NES games. Thanks!

I’m curious what setting I would use in CRT Mask section for a slot mask. Also, what CGWG means? And one last question, is Mask Size set to 1 the right setting for my 4K TV. Thank you guys in advance, and thank you for these absolutely amazing backgrounds for the amazing Mega Bezel shader!
