Testing out unreleased cores

Another kind gent has compiled the W64 version of Retroarch that includes the interger scaling option in the video settings.

Note that integer scale isn’t implemented yet for D3D9 driver.

Yeah, but who honestly uses Direct3D?

Edit: Derr, CG shader support, derr.

Thanks for the heads up, though.

Direct3D is the only way to get 100% smooth fps (0 dropped frames) and windowed fullscreen (rather than exclusive mode) in Win 7, anyway. The D3D9 driver is very nice for Windows users like myself.

hi, i’m looking for some unreleased Mednafen cores (x86 version):

  • NGP (Neo Geo Pocket Color)
  • VB (Virtual Boy)
  • PCFX
  • Lynx

The first 2 are available on the console ports so i guess they are usable…

I’m pretty sure the PC-FX core is unusable at the moment.

A few more.

In case anyone cares, I managed to compile a version of the Nestopia core for RetroArch with the PlayChoice-10 RGB palette. In case you don’t know what that is, the PC10 was kind of an arcade cabinet that played NES games, and it output native RGB, although the palette looked pretty different. AFAIK the NES RGB mods out there implement the PC10 PPU to get native RGB out of the NES. It’s neat, if anything.

Here’s the link to the compiled core. It’s 64-bit only, though.

Hot off the presses! Just compiled the latest and greatest RetroArch exes. According to the Update window, this is version 0.9.8.4. It should work with the new NTSC shader just put out, if anyone wants to play around with that.

I’ve compiled myself most Mednafen cores from the unified repo. The only cores not working currently are: mednafen-pcfx and mednafen-lynx (missing in the makefile).

EDIT: now i’m hosting my builds here.
