I am trying to play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater which for the most part uses only the 4 C buttons of the n64 controller. If I load up the game and go to the retroarch menu to adjust the input options, I try changing C-Down to be "b’ button, and ‘Y’ to be C-Left, ‘A’ for C Right and ‘X’ for C-UP. However, no matter what I do, it seems the controls remain at the default state once I am in game. i am using a wireless xbox one controller on port 0 where can i disable those automappings? thanks for any advice!
There’s a core option called “independent c-button mapping” or something like that. It will put everything on digital inputs so it’s easier to remap.

quick menu > options, set the option and then ‘close content’ and run it again. Then you can remap in quick menu > controls.
