Unable to load cores on android

I set android back button to open GUI. Tried every emulator and all my Roms (from coolrom, most there work on my PC)

I load ROM, be it for SNES, ps1, Nintendo ds …all of them. It goes to I guess an non-interactive menu where I can’t press back button or quit or anything. Have to go back to the front page using the middle house button on my phone. I press every button on menu, try opening interface and nothing responds. And I can’t get my android keyboard to come up either.

It also says on every single core and ROM, 1.0.0.2 no core. Even though I already picked one.

I have a lg nexus 4

Thanks.

Where did you get this Android version? Self compile, one of my compiles, Release pack, … ?

Right off the playstore. Is there a better way to get this?

It should work just fine in that case…

That is strange then. Gets to the menu, but kinda just locks up there. Unless I did something wrong. I did use ps1 GUI for ps1 games…so that should be right.

(Update)

Fixed it. Reinstalled and it works. Same settings as before. Possibly download/install went bad.

(What?)

That was short lived. Changed back button to GUI and now no matter what I do it can’t detect core again. And it happens as soon as I launch any game after clearing data. Works once, but ui doesn’t work then I restart and it won’t launch game.

ATM, I can only think you have some sort of corruption going on or an Antivirus is over extending its authority. Try this, go into your App Manager and do a “Clear Cache”, then “Clear Data”, then “Uninstall” Reboot then try to install again.

Got it working. It was indeed my antivirus. I removed it and it works fine.

Something is going on. Was playing and suddenly it did it again (no core) after I left to take a call on home phone.

Was playing perfectly and it died again :frowning:

(Edit finally got it 100% working. It was due to my Google updates being old. Didn’t realize it. That and the antivirus. Now I can play all of them)

Wish it came with ps2 :stuck_out_tongue: tons of my favorite games were for that. unless I just find a core for it. Not entirely sure if the core has to be built with android in mind.

No PS2 core currently or possibly ever. AFAIK, the only PS2 emulator around is PCSX2 and it’s not a particularly portable codebase, unfortunately. I believe it also leans pretty heavily on x86 asm and/or SSE optimizations, which aren’t available on typical ARM Android devices.

Ah okay. Well, still the GameCube should be possible in the future? I remember after mine broke it was easy to find an emulator on my PC. But dunno if that works either for android.

In any case. At least got it working. not too hard to figure out.
