Uncorrectable Data Read At Sector 0 Error Medfen Saturn Core

I am trying to play Saturn games with Retroarch using the Mednafen Saturn core. I am having a major problem though. The core loads fine but I get an error at the bottom of the screen that says “Uncorrectable Data Read At Sector 0,” And it takes me directly to the Saturn CD player screen. I have tried over 20 games now all with the same result. The same image files loaded fine in Yabause so I know they are not corrupted etc… But Yabause still has a lot of compatibility issues with a lot of games so I want to see if they will run better using the mednafen core. I would also like to mention that I all my images are in .bin and .cue format, and I do have the Saturn Bios files in the Retroarch System folder. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

if you are using vulkan drivers, switch to gl.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I am using gl drivers.

Check your file name, sometimes ones that are extra long and full of different characters cause problems. First try renaming the cue + bin names to something shorter (be sure to adjust the cue sheet to point to your renamed bin file).
If that doesn’t work try mounting your disk image in a virtual CD program and re-dump it using ImgBurn or try running your disk image through CDMage. I have had to do this on a couple of occasions to get some disk images working with Mednafen Saturn. I did a really quick video guide on using CDMage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaLq5TJfVG0

Thanks man CDmage fixed the the loading problem. Now I am having one more problem. When I scan my Saturn games folder retroarch is not creating a Saturn playlist like it should.

Glad that CDMage worked for you but unfortunately I cannot help with the playlist in Retroarch since I do not use that at all, I use the front end Launchbox for all my games.

Good Evening,

the issue way be in the OS that is on the device you are using. I have two computers one with win 7 and one with win 10, both are setup identical in the was of launch box and retroarch but I only get the same message on the windows 10 pc and I done this on another two computers to verify what I was experiencing. it something in windows 10.
