Or I should say unstable if you play with a Xperia PLAY.

I’m SO sorry, I know making an emulator it’s NOT an easy task, but this emu is COMPLETELY unstable, at least if you play with an Xperia PLAY.

If your finger slips and touch the touchpad it crash and go back to android or (if you are lucky) to the menu.

If you are playing and change volume the RetroArch hangs.

If you are playing and touch the touchpads and doesn’t crash, the game gets stuck in a direction unless you touch all directions of the d-pad and the buttons.

If you are playing and press menu button RetroArch hangs.

If you are playing and access RetroArch menu with the d-pad it hangs.

If you are playing and get a message (SMS, whatsapp, Chaton, etc) it gets SO slow that in the ends hangs RetroArch.

I REALLY try to like this emu, after all I can play NES, SNES (Tales of phantasia, yeah!), Genesis, GameBoy, GBA, MAME, CPS, Doom, Quake, etc, all in one emu… but it hangs or crash so frequently that is just useless…

I’m using a R800a with DiXperia 3 and LuPuS kernel v12 FULL.

Someone just donated an Xperia Play to Squarepusher and he has been working it. Things may be a bit better in the next release.

Still, though, you shouldn’t expect miracles. It’s an old and extremely odd device to support.

The most recent updates have been a little unkind to the XP to be frank. Crashes used to be more rare than they seem to be now. Still, like Hunter said, now the team has a XP in their possession and we can look forward to likely better support.

If you dig through the Android thread you can find a post where I link to a download of the R16 .APK of Retroarch, which was very stable for the XP. Hopefully that link still works.
