Does this work with PPSSPP? would be fun to test but I only get a black screen
retroarch does work in ppsspp, but since switching between cores relies on a kernel prx that isn’t emulated in ppsspp, you need to rename a core .PBP to EBOOT.PBP and put it in its own homebrew directory ( or replace the one in the main retroarch folder ).
pce_fast doesn’t work though, the emulation/sound do run, but I get no picture, I guess some of the functionality I used for the rendering aren’t emulated correctly yet.
which reminds me, maybe the trick of renaming a core to EBOOT.PBP and putting it in its own folder will allow it to run on vita, can anyone test this ?
Excellant work. Splatterhouse now displays correctly and runs full speed.
I noticed a slight fault (grey lines bottom of screen) in “Don Doko Don” but that may be due to screen postioning you mention.
I’m using the beta2-slim version on my GO now and wow, the CDROMs I mentioned in my last post work (Brandish, Prince of Persia, Shadow of the Beast)! I’m running it from my Sandisk 16GB M2 and they seem to run mostly fine. In game, I’m getting 58-59 FPS while it drops to 20-30FPS while accessing the CDROM image. I haven’t tried a HuCard yet but I’m not seeing the corruption with my CDROM games like I did when running cards in the previous version. Thanks! EDIT: I’m still using 660PRO-C fix3, with ISOCache Enabled and Force High Memory Layout disabled.
I love this emulator, i use it in every single device that i own, keep the nice job folks!..I’m using the beta2 in my PSP 3000 with Custom LME 6.60 - 2.2, gambatte and pce-fast runs nice a full speed (Akumajou Dracula X WoW!), tempGBA runs ok, but some games crash like Mortal Kombat Tournament edition when practice begins, fceumm works fines some fps drops but I can’t save states the emu crash, this core reconigzes the FDS Bios, but the FDS game doesn’t start, fmsx core works but some games crash like H.E.R.O.
Thanks!
PCE core is a bit improved. Simple games like Bomberman and Legendary Axe appears to stay in full speed, but some other games like Blazing Lazers run around 50-ish fps. Bonks adventure sits somewhere in the middle of them. Is it inherently impossible for cores like NES & PCE to reach fullspeed on PSP?
Bonks adventure runs at 80-100 fps here, I’m not sure why you are getting a highly different result. it would be helpful to specifiy your firmware / psp version next time. maybe your CFW doesn’t allow homebrews to set the clock speed to 333mhz? can you try setting that manually? either way I don’t see how you would consider improvements in speed as a sign that it is “inherently impossible for cores like NES & PCE to reach fullspeed on PSP”.
oh looks like the file was uploaded incomplete the first time, sry. I just uploaded it again. It should work now.
Thanks for advice, tested and works on Vita TN-V!

What happened to my post?
They’re doing some backend stuff to the forum and it might have gotten lost in the shuffle. Sorry about that.
I do remember seeing it, though, so you’re not crazy.
I Just tested the new beta and I still can’t return to the RA menu using the note key,
It switches for a second and than return back to the game… =(
I also think it is better to user L+R key combination to switch to menu,
What about other cores atari 2600, mame ?
is the PSP Nightly version only for FAT PSP? because it doesn’t works in my PSP 3000, when I try to play FCEUMM the screen go black and my PSP crash.
And what is your CFW?
My Custom is the last LME 2.3 (Wololo http://goo.gl/Kwbm4X), the RetroArch PSP 1.0.0.3 beta2 slim works fine.
So far I noticed slowdowns in some GBA games and my PSP turned off while I was playing Wario Land 4 (in the interval between stages, maybe something related to the sram?). Apparently there’re some graphical glitches with Bomberman games (PC Engine CD only).
For some strange reason the message that screenshots are being taken appear from time to time. Although I think it shouldn’t even work yet. O_o
Also, I’m a little worried about these loading times for compressed files and Cave Story. This doesn’t reduce the memory stick lifetime…?
