I’ve googled this and searched the forums with no luck - maybe it’s easier than it sounds? Just want to update to the new RA without losing all my cores, settings, input configs, etc. What’s the best way to accomplish this?

Just replace the updated exe and leave everything else untouched. If there isn’t a huge change, everything will work as before.
Download the latest datestamped nightly for your OS/architecture from buildbot.libretro.com, unzip and replace your retroarch.exe and retroarch_debug.exe with the updated ones (it’s a good idea to make backups first). If it complains about any missing libraries (not common but it can happen if we’ve updated the buildbot toolchain since your last update), download the redist package from the buildbot and drag all of the dlls from there into your retroarch directory, overwriting any conflicts.
